Longs ears delight - my 9-year old granddaughter has become interested in chess. The ears on this historic american chess company reproduction make her smile and anxious to play. Isn’t that enough to win my support for this unique set?
Many thanks to ICC for their work and their kind help!
This is a promising set which I had in collaboration with Gurpreet Singh basing from my 3.15" scale original set to be reproduced. We gone through a series of checks and balanced to bring to you a true to the exact reproduction ever made. It's a well balance set from the top of the pieces down to the weighting. It's a process done by his skillfully selected craftsman. I am very delightful to add on to my collection.
I have waited for the arrival of this set for quite sometime as its supposed release was delayed but now Gurpreet has brought it out, I am really happy to own this set. I particularly like the unique llama knight. This set is an accurate reproduction of the historical 1904 American Chess Company set. Thanks to Gurpreet and Chess Praxis for this worthy collaboration that collectors can enjoy.
1904 American Chess Co. Set, a reproduction by the Indian Chess Company and Gurpreet Singh in collaboration with Stephen Kong, aka Chess Praxis, the first of what promises to be a long line of significant reproductions. Very nicely made and aesthetically pleasing, not always easy to achieve when upscaling from a smaller original. It plays well with a good feel in hand. Nicely weighted and well-balanced. Just be careful if you use them for blitz or rapid play. The knights’ ears and kings’ pointy finials may be susceptible to damage, a feature of the original design rather than how it was reproduced.
